Susan B. Johnson has more than a decade of experience assisting in the handling of Social Security Disability and State Workers’ compensation matters. She is a graduate of Andover College with an Associates degree in paralegal studies. Susan has worked both in Portland and in Topsham for some of the largest legal practices for injured people but finds she is happiest working at the IWLC where the clients aren’t a number to be processed but individuals she can help to navigate the stressful and uncertain process that filing for disability and compensation benefits presents.
Susan’s commitment to assisting Mainers includes more than 5 years of administration of the HiSet testing programs to help adult students receive their high school equivalency degree. She provided not only administration of the testing programs but academic support and encouragement for her students seeking to obtain their certificates.
Susan was born and raised in Maine and returned here to raise her own children. Her hardest job has been as a mother of her oldest serving in Iraq as a member of the Army National Guard. Both of her boys, now adults, reside in the Portland area while Susan raises her rescued dog “Baby” at the family home.
