Ira Sterling is an attorney whose practice is primarily focused on estate planning, probate, worker injury and elder law. As a graduate of University of Maine School of Law, Ira has learned of the needs of the Maine community and works hard to meet those needs every day.
During law school, he worked as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, where he provided legal representation to low income clients in an assortment of civil and criminal matters. Following law school, Ira has worked in higher education administration and practiced law in northern Maine, where he worked primarily on family law, criminal defense, and probate matters. Before law school, Ira earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Guilford College where he graduated with honors.
Ira deeply cares about his clients and their well-being. Known for being a good listener, his initial conversation with a client is an opportunity to learn what their needs are and discuss how he can best support them. From providing efficient advice for the decisive client, to offering support to those impacted by work injuries, to providing instructive and compassionate counsel about the estate planning or estate administration process for the client who needs more support, Ira is here as his clients’ advocate. Ira understands the importance of preparing for the future through careful and thorough planning, and he works tirelessly to promote the needs of the elderly. Ira is here to help solve his clients’ problems and prepare for the future.
Ira lives in Gardiner. He spends his free time playing and recording music, and plays many instruments, most recently focusing on synthesizers and electronic music. Ira also enjoys cooking, baking, photography, and spending time outside in nature.
